Recreation Facilities
- The health and safety of our students, members and staff are our top priorities.
- We follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and Georgia Department of Public Health safe practices for COVID-19.
- Students and members are required to wear face coverings in recreation facilities.
- Temperature checks are performed at entrances for patrons wanting to use recreational facilities (must be less than 100.4F) to enter. COVID-19 screening questions are asked.
- Students and members must bring their PantherCards to access facilities.
- Guest passes cannot be purchased during the spring semester. Previously purchased multi-visit guest passes cannot be redeemed during the semester.
- Hand-sanitizer stations (stands and touchless) are available throughout each recreation facility.
- We have increased the frequency of cleaning by Building Services staff, professional and student staff throughout operating hours.
- Gym wipes are available in all areas.
- Fitness equipment is available, and signage will assist with spacing.
- Plexiglass panels have been installed at customer service areas.
- Social-distancing six-feet protocols are in place throughout recreation facilities.
- There is a limit of four people per elevator.
- We continue to offer virtual recreation programming along with small-group programming in each program area: fitness classes, intramurals, Touch the Earth, instructional clinics, sport clubs, instructional clinics, climbing wall and bouldering cave.
- In-person recreational programming begins Jan. 25 and continues through April 26, 2021.
- The Student Recreation Center is accepting reservation requests for student organizations and university departments. Reservation requests are limited due to CDC guidelines and capacity limits.
- The Indian Creek Recreation Area is accepting reservations for the lodge and event lawn and is following CDC guidelines and capacity limits.
- Capacity for spaces is posted outside each room and area.
- Equipment lending is not available at recreation facilities. Only items that are laundered, such as towels and T-shirts, are available for checkout.
- Students and patrons are encouraged to bring their own equipment and use it in appropriate spaces.
- No contact or team sport activity is permitted.
- Bathrooms and locker rooms:
- Social distancing is in place. Spacing information is posted on floors and mirrors.
- CDC guideline signage about COVID-19 is posted in bathrooms.
- Lockers for long-term storage are available for rental for the semester or year. Free day-use lockers are available in the exercise room. Day lockers are also available in the locker rooms but require a lock. Locks can be purchased for $5 at the equipment issue desk inside the Student Recreation Center.
